First Aid Kits

Everyone should always have a medical kit with you at all times.  And, that includes your family members too. We should all have first aid kits in our cars, our survival kits, bug out/in bags, as well as in the home, office.  Virtually everywhere we go, it should be available for us to use just in case of a medical emergency.  That, by the way, could even include removing a splinter.  Let’s have a look at what we should have.

First Aid Kit At Home:  This kit should be able to cover a wide range of injuries that could occur. Have a home first aid kit and then add your personal items that you feel you need.

First Aid Kit At Work:  As most people spend some 8 hours a day at work, and depending on what your job is, some accidents are more likely than others. Your first aid kit should be for events like active shooters, terrorist attacks and earthquakes. Also, it is important to have supplies that could help the situation until the medical professionals arrive.

All places of employment should have basic first aid kits. Because sometimes these kits never get restocked, therefore, it might be a good idea to have your own. Check your employers first aid kit and see how well it’s stocked.  If it isn’t, bring it to someone’s attention.

First Aid Kit For Your Car:  We know that the average American spends approximately 2 hours per day in their car travelling, usually two and from work.   Driving injuries can be more severe than injuries working around the home.  It might be an idea to have more trauma supplies. That’s only good if you know how and when to use them. Also, broken bones and severe bleeding are quite common in car accidents. So, having SAM splints, extra gauze and dressings would be great to have on hand until help arrives.

First Aid Kit For Pets:  First aid kits for our pets is something pretty well most people don’t even think about. The truth of the matter is that there are few differences between human first aid kit supplies, and pet first aid supplies. The main difference is the amount; that’s it.
